Supporting our communities

  • News

4 Jun, 2025

Introduction

Life and business are both frantic and with goal posts constantly being moved we thought why not support some that stay put. MAV are proud to sponsor the Milford Cobras junior football team based in Staffordshire who have finished the season with a 75% win ratio.

Growing Stronger Together

We have witnessed huge changes in the team over the last 12 months, starting with a group of individuals that wanted to be the ‘star’, ending with a successful team that fought for each other and celebrated wildly no matter who did what. We could talk about how this is also true in business but this is about communities, about supporting young individuals to be part of something bigger, to understand you can win, lose or draw but we all have the choice of how we respond, there is always a next time.

Supporting people, communities and projects is often referred to as CSR but for MAV, and The Traffic Group as a whole, this is not just a business exercise but a chance to make a real difference in the lives of others, small contributions have a huge impact.

MAV Systems was delighted to take part in an inspiring day at the University of Greenwich as part of the Green STEM initiative, which we are proud to sponsor alongside the wider STEM Challenge programme. The event brought together enthusiastic students from across the region, all eager to learn, explore, and get hands-on with the variety of activities presented by participating businesses.

Inspiring the Next Generation

Every student who attended embraced the challenges and opportunities on offer, showing impressive curiosity and creativity. Our team had the pleasure of speaking with many young people about engineering, technology development, and the exciting possibilities within the world of innovation. One of the highlights of the day was the enthusiasm surrounding our giant buzz-wire challenge, which drew crowds and encouraged students to test their skills, patience, and precision.

It was a privilege to be part of an event that inspires the next generation and highlights the valuable role STEM plays in shaping future careers. We look forward to continuing our support for these talented students as they explore their potential and pursue the many exciting paths ahead of them.

  • News

1 Jun, 2025

Introduction

MAV Systems is proud to have been invited by Sarah Coombes to participate in the recent “Cracking Down on Ghost Plates” meeting held at the Palace of Westminster. The session brought together key stakeholders committed to improving road safety and addressing the growing challenge posed by vehicles using obscured, altered, or fraudulent number plates.

Advancing Road Safety Together

Improving road safety remains a shared priority for both Sarah and MAV Systems, and the development of this partnership offers a strong foundation for meaningful progress. Our inclusion in this taskforce reflects the significance of our latest innovation—GhostPlate™ technology, integrated within the intelligent MAV AiQ ANPR camera. This powerful capability provides a practical and effective solution to identifying manipulated or concealed plates, giving enforcement agencies the reliable tools they need to combat this increasingly widespread issue.

The technology required to support the fight against Ghost Plate misuse is no longer theoretical. MAV Systems looks forward to working closely with Sarah and with transport and enforcement agencies across the country to help restore control of the roads, enhance compliance, and strengthen the safety of all road users.
