Commitment to achieving Net Zero
MAV Systems Limited is committed to reducing GHG emissions by 85% by 2030.
We are committed to achieving short-term science-based targets, aligned with the goal of limiting warming to 1.5°C, aiming to reduce our carbon footprint by an average of 85% by 2030.
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions: – 85% absolute reduction by 2030 from a FY23 baseline.
In addition to our short term targets, we have also committed to achieve Net Zero Carbon by 2050 at the latest.
Supporting the UK’s most important transport infrastructure means that reducing our carbon emissions is a business imperative. These ambitious targets demonstrate our commitment to delivering our services in the most sustainable way possible and to provide maximum value for money to our customers.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be
measured.

Emissions reduction targets
In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.
We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 2 tCO2e by 2030. This is a reduction of 85% from our 2024 baseline.
Carbon Reduction Projects (Green Completed)
As part of our expansion we have taken on a new unit at the same site which has lead to an increase in Emission in 2024. This however is offset but any reduced travel requirements for employees to additional buildings.
As part of our plan we have implemented and are implementing the below scheme
Employee Electric Vehicle Purchase Scheme (Salary Sacrifice) two uptakes already
Installation of two free of charge employee vehicle chargers at the MAV Systems Offices
Installation of window film to reduce solar gain during summer reducing electrical usage for aircon
Remove Plastics from supply chain and move to eco friendly packaging
Recycling waste (Cardboard, Food etc), excess / waste metal returned to supplier
65%+ of the supply chain within 30 miles of factory with call off deliveries to reduce carbon footprint from excess deliveries
Renewables Only Energy Supplier, and migration to LED based lighting
Many projects have been completed or implemented since the 2023 baseline.
